Early designers and builders of residential ISBU projects used
little more than paint to disguise the humble origins of their corrugated
steel boxes, while chanting a "form follows function"
mantra, which extolled the "beauty" of cost savings and
industrial design.
But industrial design isn't for everyone. Therefore, many people
have set out to modify the ISBU process to create a more traditional
home, one with a conventional peaked roof and a stucco exterior
for example.
Container4Home has taken a different approach.
Container4Homes grew out of a belief that the cost and construction
practicality of the simple cargo container must eventually be wed
to a new and unique persona based on
an appearance, cost and practicality that transcends the traditional
home if ISBU construction is ever to gain any traction in the mass
market.
We set out to accomplish this by utilizing state of the art commercial
building materials to create a minimalist exterior with the sleek
look of the classic case study homes of the mid 20th century.
A gallery like interior with pleasant, simple esthetics that allows
easy adaptation to reflection the owner's personality in the fixtures
and materials chosen to finish the project gives a uniquely modern
touch.
These exterior and interior details are what make a Container4Home
different from other ISBU projects.
